Yes, they make single malt in Indiana. This whisky is created from peat brought from Islay over to the Paul Distilleries in Goa, where it is used to dry their 6-row barley. Fully peated, yet very elegant, Bold offers toasted barley and orchard fruit along with pleasant wisps of smoke on the nose. The palate offers honeyed oak and roasted coffee, along with very well-integrated peat smoke. There are some amazing whiskies being produced in India and they are unfairly overlooked on American menus. Hopefully you enjoy discovering this dram.
